In 2006, Solace to renovated or began new construction at six schools in Northern Sudan to prepare them for new computer classrooms. By the Fall of 2006, the labs currently were providing computer training to roughly 1500 students.
In 2007, Steven Hannington from Kisumu, Kenya, was employed through his position at Youth Generation Center, to teach English at several of these campuses. He proved his skill with languages by quickly learning the local dialect of the area – earning him the trust of local leaders. It is hoped that this trust can be used to start other projects in the future. Currently, security concerns do not allow Solace to send staff to the region.
