2002
  • A group of concerned citizens organizes a fundraiser in Anchorage, Alaska raising capital to begin construction of two girls’ schools in Northern Afghanistan.
2003
  • Solace International receives nonprofit status as an INGO, (International Non-Government Organization), and establishes mission to respond to the educational and economic needs of women in rural Afghanistan.
  • Construction begins on two additional schools in Jawzjan province, Afghanistan.
2004
  • Opens 5 new schools in Jawzjan province, Afghanistan – bringing the total to 7.
  • Develops cottage industries to over 500 women in partnership with Worldstock.com, and opens the Internet market to Afghan artisans.


2005
  • Opens the first Internet-capable classroom in an Afghan public school.
  • Rebuilds over a dozen small businesses in post-tsunami Bande Ache, Indonesia
  • Expands mission to include school construction projects in Indonesia, Nepal, and Malawi.
2006
  • Builds Young Generation Center (YGC) Orphanage and School in Kisumu, Kenya com
  • Completes Malawi Children’s Village (MCV) Dormitory and school in Mangochi, Malawi
  • Renovates or builds 5 computer classroom at schools in Northern Sudan
  • Finishes 3 schools in Indonesia
2007
  • Launches Kenyan and Malawi micro-businesses and vocational training in agricultural, aquaculture, and construction
  • Builds school and programs for South Sudan Vocational School
  • Completes AIDS clinic in Ghana
2008
  • Completes 3 schools in Liberia
  • Breaks ground on Mbita Boys Vocational Training Center, Kenya
  • Establishes trucking vocational program at YGC, Kenya
  • Achieves production totals of 150,000 fingerlings at Mangochi Fish Farm, Malawi
  • Begins construction of additional dorms and classrooms at MCV, Malawi
 2009
  • Breaks ground on Mbita Girls Vocational Training Center, Kenya
  • Begins work on Mbita Community Health Clinic
  • Negotiates production contract for Mangochi Fish Farm fingerlings that covers all operations for one-year
